ISHA Annual Report and Honor Roll

The nonprofit International Skiing History Association (ISHA) enjoyed a successful year in 2025.

Total paid audience (including active members and bulk magazine distribution to sponsors and clubs) rose 16.7 percent from January to January, to 2,558 (active members totaled 1,433).

The 2025 fundraising campaign raised a record $155,689 from 392 individuals and families, up 16 percent from the 2024 campaign. Donations covered 45 percent of the costs of publishing Skiing History magazine and running all ISHA programs. Many thanks to Nancy Greene and John McMurtry for leading the annual campaign, and to all our generous donors. Fifty-seven companies and organizations contributed $47,550 in corporate sponsorship funding.

Due to increased prices for paper, printing and postage, the cost to manufacture and mail the magazine rose
18 percent; editorial costs rose 16 percent. Staffing and administration costs rose 14 percent. The investment funds grew 7.6 percent (after a withdrawal of $75,000 to cover the usual summertime cash-flow shortfall). The balance sheet rose 3.3 percent for the year.

The budget breakdown includes 61 percent to support programs (publishing the magazine and website, the museum grant and awards program, Skiing History Week and member communications) and 39 percent to fundraising and administration costs.

ISHA is a 501(c)(3) public charity, eligible to receive grants from family and community foundations, donor-advised funds and corporate-matching programs, in addition to direct contributions from individuals.
