The International Skiing History Association will host its 34th annual Awards Banquet on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Cliff Lodge in Snowbird, Utah.

The banquet is part of ISHA’s Skiing History Week, held in partnership with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and the North American Ski Journalists Association, April 8 to 11. The Hall of Fame will hold its induction banquet on Saturday, April 11.

The Awards Banquet honors the authors of significant books and films on the history of our sport released to the public during the previous year. For a list of previous award winners, and for more information on the April festivities and to book lodging, see skiinghistory.org/events. To purchase banquet tickets, go to events.humanitix.com/ussshof-2026/tickets and scroll down to ISHA Awards Banquet.

Skiing History Week is ISHA’s annual get-together for its members, directors and staff—it’s your chance to meet (and ski) with historians, magazine contributors and like-minded skiing-history enthusiasts.

Beekley Art Collection Seeks Home

The Beekley International Collection of Skiing Art and Literature seeks a new home and asks for your help. Mason Beekley, the founder of ISHA, began buying ski-related books and art in 1949 and built the collection steadily until his death in 2001. The archive contains more than 2,000 books (the oldest published in 1654); 274 exquisite paintings and sculptures of skiers; 625 posters dating back to the 1880s; magazine covers dating back to the 19th century; unique etchings and lithographs; 2,700 ski pins and 585 postage stamps.

Beginning in 2003, the collection was available for public viewing in Mammoth Lakes, California, at the Mammoth Lakes Foundation’s Edison Hall. When the building was converted into a performance space in 2011, the collection went into secure storage in Denver, where it was cataloged and has been accessible to scholars (by appointment) but has not been open to the public.

Now, Beekley Foundation president Nat Messina seeks a museum, university, ski resort or other cultural institution capable of housing and exhibiting this unique resource. To see select works from the collection, visit BeekleyCollection.org; to read John Fry’s account of the collection’s origin, visit bit.ly/BeekleyCollectionFry. To discuss the future of the Beekley Collection or pass along names of interested parties, contact
Nat Messina at nmessina@legacyfws.com.
