ISHA membership and SKIING HERITAGE subscription fees cover only 50% of the costs of the JOURNAL and ISHA’s many other programs.

ISHA depends on the financial support of ISHA Members, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other individuals to maintain and enhance these programs, including skiinghistory.org, Google books, ISHA Annual Awards, Skiing Pioneer Awards, and Ski History Congresses.

For an individual, there are three ways that you can provide essential financial support to ISHA.

ANNUAL ISHA MEMBER DONATION

Annual tax deductible from many ISHA members supplement membership fees to enable ISHA to publish the JOURNAL and engage in its other programs.

General operating fund giving levels are as follow:

• Chairman’s Circle $5,000 – $10,000
• President’s Circle $2,000 – $4,999
• History Leader $!,000 – $1,999
• Gold Medalist $500 – $999
• Silver Medalist $100 – $499
• Bronze medalist up to $100

All donors are recognized annually in the March issue of SKIING HERITAGE.

Planned Giving

The themes of one or more of the important chapters of your life story probably include:

• your love of the mountains;
• your ski business or competitive accomplishments;
• the “extended family” of passionate skiers who have shared in “the high” of a perfect day on the slopes.
• experience the physical demands of the sport, and the sheer beauty of the surroundings;
  a competitive win;
• a student or offspring mastering a black diamond;
• quiet hours in the lodge telling stories.

These themes of your life bring the value of ISHA into focus.

You may have been part of the core group when ISHA was Mason Beekley’s baby. You have delighted in the history that has been captured in the pages of SKIING HERITAGE since 1989. You have applauded the 100+ individuals who have received ISHA awards for books, documentaries, and lifetime achievements. You have shared in the special moments – - – the camaraderie – - -that define Skiing Heritage Week. You value ISHA’s work in preserving and documenting the historical recorded on Skiinghistroy.org and in SKIING HERITAGE.

As you look to the next year of skiing and to your ISHA relationship, we ask that you consider a bequest or charitable trust as a means to invest in ISHA’s future.

Such a planned giving investment can secure your legacy as a member of a special community made up of individuals for whom the preservation of skiing culture and skiing history preserve an important theme of your life.

Major Donor Program
ISHA Mission 2012

In 2009, ISHA established a 2012 financial sustainability goal. Achieving this goal will depend upon growth in ISHA memberships and SKIING HERITAGE JOURNAL subscriptions, continued ISHA member annual donations, and planned giving commitments.

In addition, the ISHA board concluded that an effort should be undertake to higher level donor commitments, both to the general operating fund, to the existing Rigo Thurmer Fund, and to a new Beekley Legacy Fund.

Specific opportunities for Major Donor general fund and endowment support provide individuals, foundations, and corporations with visibility and recognition tied to

Multiyear donations:

• The ISHA Pinnacle Club at least $10,000 per year for
