Pls Help ID these skis

I have a pair of Harvey E. Dodd's that I picked up at a garage sale a few years back. They are in good shape. The stain color is a dark mahogony color, but I don't believe the wood is actually mahogony.

Serial number (I think) engraved in the wood, top side, in front of the binding, reads: A2533. There is also a 66 about an inch above the serial number.

The bindings call out WEDGE-LOCK. Leather toe straps and leather straps leading to metal spring for the heal strap.

I am curious to trace the history of these skis. Any insight or reference material would be greatly appreciated.

Harvey Dodds held a Canadian patent, dated 1934, on this ski binding; his company in Montreal made and sold skis and accessories across Canada from about 1930 until about 1945. To date your skis more accurately we'd have to see photos, especially of the binding, base and edges.

looks very like a spademan binding to me

Umm, no. Spademan (designed circa 1968) was a release binding, and sat under the boot heel, with an operating lever projecting behind the heel. This 1934 Dodds binding is a simple non-release beartrap binding to hold the boot toe; it's designed to adjust to the width and taper of different boot toes. Basically it's a variation of the Marius Eriksen binding introduced in Europe in the late 20s. It's equipped with slots for the leather straps that will hold the boot in place on the angled steel platform.
