The 70+ Ski Club This club has been growing for nearly a generation, ever since it was founded in 1977 with its home ski area at Hunter Mountain, New York. The founder, the late Lloyd Lambert, was a well-known Northeastern radio ski program personality. He decided to organize ski events for skiers over 70, including races and get-togethers, along with the advantageous ski tours at group travel rates and group ticket discounts. In spite of predictions that club membership would inevitably dwindle, the membership has grown every year thanks to the influx of more and more skiers over 70. After his father passed on, Richard Lambert became the club's second president. Read Skiing Heritage story of Lloyd
Lambert and the 70+ Ski Club Members receive two newsletters a year with club news and ski tours for the year, plus a list (updated every year) of ski areas that gives discount or free lift tickets to all skiers over 70. The annual dues are $10 single, $15 for a couple. To join, write Richard Lambert, 70+ Ski Club, 1633 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY 12304 and you will receive a membership form by mail.
